From ซีรี่ย์จีน ซับไทย of Yoga Hosers and Cop Out comes this physique horror film a few man who turns his guest into a human walrus. It’s Tusk, and it stars Justin Long as Wallace Bryton, a podcaster who is kidnapped by a cannibalistic Canadian walrus-obsessed nutcase.

It’s an odd flip for the Clerks and Red State director, who’s more accustomed to comedy, however this is an intriguing concept that might have been pulled off with some fantastic casting, some sharp course and some better writing. Instead, we now have a multitude of a movie that’s neither funny nor horrifying.
Tusk was conceived as a joke on Smith’s Smodcast podcast, where he asked his followers to tweet #yeswalrus or #nowalrus and let them know whether he should develop the story right into a full-blown film. His fans responded in overwhelming numbers for him to go ahead and do it, so he did, with one main caveat: he would only direct the movie if he might star in it as properly. So he did, with Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez joining him on this tale of insanity and mayhem.
The movie facilities on Wallace, a podcaster who travels round interviewing individuals and searching out characters with interesting tales to tell. On certainly one of his excursions, he finds Howard Howe, who claims to have some fascinating sea and walrus-related adventures to share. Intrigued, Wallace flies up to Canada to satisfy him. But Howe doesn’t simply have some fascinating stories to inform; he also has some other things in thoughts for his new host.
From there, the film becomes a horror story about a man who will get turned into a walrus. It’s a bizarre, twisted tale that mixes components of horror and humor and may be very very like The Human Centipede minus the coprophagia. It’s also pretty gory, with plenty of blood and grotesque imagery.
The greatest part of Tusk is its forged, especially Michael Parks, who was the standout in Smith’s different 2014 misfire, Red State. He’s simply as good here, enjoying an insufferable prick with the type of flamboyance that makes him a joy to look at. His initial scenes with Long are the spotlight of the movie.
Unfortunately, as soon as the movie moves into the horror genre, it loses steam and seems like a gross-out gag. There are laughs available, but most of them come from the audience laughing at how unhealthy it all is. The movie shifts uncomfortably between horror and comedy, but it’s by no means clear which method the filmmakers intended to go with this one..
